Thinking of You!

Toby With Roses

Hello to all my friends in cyber-land!   Marie here and I too am making my first MarkerPop post!  You can read about what Samantha has to say about our new direction HERE.    We are all very excited to start our new venture  and for the opportunity to try new supplies and techniques.   The most exciting thing for me is that this will provide more affordable supplies so more people can enjoy the wonderful experience of using alcohol ink markers and other goodies.

I used a cute little image by Milton & Co (Wild Rose Studios) called Toby With Roses.  The technique I used was a stippling technique to create fur.   I also used a colorless blender to enhance the texture.

Copics:
Roses/Bow: R20, R22, R24, R59
Background:  B0000, B000 and R20

I love to play with various backgrounds.
I made swirls with white ink and created muted colored hearts.

I layered my card and applied hand quilled roses and leaves.

Thank you for joining me today.

Altered Notebook

Happy Saturday!  So what do you think about the news Samantha shared yesterday?!  We are excited to see where the new venture will lead!  You can read all about it HERE once you are done reading MY post! *wink!*
For my first MarkerPop project, I altered a Composition Notebook!  Another first for me...but definitely won't be the last time I do this!

I covered the notebook with papers from the Lily Bee Design Head Over Heels Collection.  I added a touch of May Arts Velvet and Lace ribbon, some Prima Marketing Pearls and Wood Buttons from Prima as well.

Sweet Magnolia Tilda With Daisy is colored with the following Copic markers:  G46, G43, E21, E02, T4, T2, E59, E57, YR16, YR15, BG15, BG10.

What a fun little notebook for a girly-girl!

May your Heart Bloom with Happiness!

Hello iCopic lovers! Tracy here today with a cutie from The Greeting Farm!

I have used 3 different stamps here.  The little girl and sentiment are from Sitting Lovely and the couch is from Sitting Cute. To begin, I stamped the little girl out and then stamped out another one from a thin piece of paper or a post it note. Cut her out and used her as a mask. Layed the mask on top of my original image and then I stamped the couch. I wanted the sentiment to look like a picture hanging on a wall. So I made a "frame" to place around the sentiment. then used a brad as the nail. I cut out the scalloped square from a grand nestie. Lucky me the cardstock already had those lovely little swiss dots on them! ;-)  Added some distressing with some distress inks and layered my papers. I used some foam squares behind my image so it stands out a little more than it all just being flat.

The copic colors I used are as follows:
Hair: E51, E51, E53, E33
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R11
Red: R22, R24
Blue: B12, B14
Orange: YR00, YR02, YR12, YR14, E97, E99

Thanks for looking!

Hugs,

Mr. Funny Man Layout

Hi everyone! Samantha here! Today is supposed to be 3d Thursday, but today, I am changing things up by showing you a scrapbook layout. I actually didn't use ANY Copics on my project today *GASP*. . .

I actually used a couple of the other products from the iCopic store!  Have a look:

As I always do on my scrapbook layouts, I do my journaling with my Handy Dandy Multiliner! I use this thing all the time! I outline elements with it, or write with it. There is a little bit of Copic Multiliner on nearly every scrapbook layout I make these days. They come in a variety of colors and line thicknesses. I used the Black Multiliner SP.

Here's the complete layout. This is my silly hubby making faces while washing the dishes. I was actually taking photos of the dogs, I think, but he was just being so silly I had to capture the moment. My hubby is the type of guy who can always make you laugh.

The next thing I want to point out is my buttons I added. There is a real button, and then there are two chipboard buttons. I absolutely LOVE the combination of the various textures and colors when using some faux buttons along with some real ones! It really just adds some extra visual interest to the page.  The faux buttons I used came from the Webster's Pages set called: Trendsetter. This is actually from a button & twine combo set so you can dress up the centers of your buttons or leave them plain.

Here are some additional close up photos:

Well that's all for today, folks!! Tracy will be back tomorrow to share another great project with you!

A Birthday Box using Bella with Presents!

Hi everyone Melissa here and I'm so excited to share a little A2 sized box I made for my sister's upcoming birthday!  I used the NEW Wild Rose Studio Clear Stamp called Bella with Presents.
Oh my gosh - isn't he/she the cutest ever!  I love this stamp and knew right away I had to have it.  There are a number of sweet Bella images in the Wild Rose Studio selection at iCopic (I want all of them - hehe).  I stamped Bella with Presents in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (which is back in stock!) on Curious Cryogen White paper.  I am loving this paper, almost more then my X-Press It.  Here is a picture of the top of the box.
I used My Mind's Eye paper for the lid.  I also used a bit of Kraft paper for the base as it's really stiff and sturdy.
I used my fabulous Copics to color the image too.  You can see them listed below.  I love the R02, R05, and R08 blending group as well.  The color is a perfect salmon pink and it blends perfectly.

Wow and don't forget about our fun RV challenge this week.  If you haven't gotten a glimpse of Kelli's GORGEOUS card you must see what she did with the mermaids tail!!! WOW!

Tuesday Tips: What to Do In Desperate Times!

Hello everyone!   Marie here to share with you on Tips and Tricks Tuesday at iCopic !

I have just spent a wonderful week at the beach near Southern California.  I had a wonderful  time and the weather was gorgeous!  However - that leads me to the little "tip and trick" I am going to share with you today.   I was so proud of myself for packing lightly.  You now what I mean!   Those craft bags we take on vacation can really add up to be more than our clothing! OK, let's be honest- more than clothing for the whole family!   I was in the process of coloring my image and my violet Copics I needed for my mid-tone and highlight ran out of ink.  You got it.... They were dry.  My card was due (like yesterday)! No - there were not any Copic stores near.  iCopic was too far and Fed Ex wouldn't cooperate!

Tip:  Take your colorless blender and touch the tip of your darker tone and blend outward.  Use a flicking motion with the wrist and blend toward the highlight.   Keep the process going and you will have a mid-tone and highlight!

Skin E13, E11, E00, E000, E0000

Hair:  E25, E27, E35, E31, E30

Plan:   V17, V15, V12

Copics actually used for outfit:  V17 and Colorless Blender

Present:  R0000, R20, R22

Bow:  G40, YG63

Grass: G28, G40, G63

I quilled some flowers,  added rhinestones  and  a punched butterfly for embellishment.

Thank you for stopping by.  Check out the wonderful selection of Magnolia images at iCopic  HERE

and don't forget to come back tomorrow

and see what treat Melissa has created for you!

Hugs,

Marie

iCopic Weekly Challenge #79

Hi, everyone!  Kelli here today to bring you this week's challenge!

The Challenge: RV Family
Use your RV Copics on your project!

To join this week's challenge just add a direct link to your challenge project below. Projects are due on Sunday, April 29th at noon PST. A winner will be chosen at random to receive this week's prize. The winner and top 3 picks will be showcased right here on the iCopic blog Sunday evening!  We will also announce our weekly commenting winner too (chosen at random from all the comments left on the blog this week, so be sure to leave us some love)! REMEMBER - ONLY iCOPIC CUSTOMERS SHOULD PARTICIPATE!

This week's prize is a special $15 gift voucher!

I used Mermaid Anya by The Greeting Farm and stamped her in Memento - Tuxedo Black ink.  I have used her before for crazy hair colors but I feel she's perfect for almost any fun color!  I colored her with Copics:
hair and top: RV29, RV25, RV23
hair: E31, Y35, Y21, Y13, Y11
skin: E13, E21, E51
tail: YG25, YG23, YG21
I spritzed the background with the Rose Bud Fireworks spray.  This stuff is so fun and shimmery, I love it!

All of the patterned paper, besides the pink, is from the Echo Park - Hello Summer 6x6 Paper Pad.

For her tail I decided to try something different.  I cut out a piece of lace in the shape of her tail and then adhered it by using Glossy Accents.  I think this is really fun because it gives the look of scales and also some added texture.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Gwendolyn Lulu ~ Happy Birthday Wishes!

Michelle here....and I'm still cleaning up my stamping studio!  I have some pretty papers from Wild Rose's Wintry Christmas collection that caught my eye and turned into a cute feminine springtime birthday card!  I call it *thinking outside the collection!*

I *love* Stamping Bella's Gwendolyn Lulu image and colored her up with the Copic Markers below:

I also added some touches of sparkle with the Copic Spica Gliter Pens shown.    I finished my card off with a touch of Baker's Twine.

3D Fergus

Hi, everyone!  It's Kelli and today I have a card to share with you that uses the super cute Fergus Wishing stamp by Wild Rose Studio.  I didn't want the present from the stamp for this particular project so I only inked Fergus and any ink that got onto the present I carefully wiped away with a baby wipe.
I made him 3D which you'll be able to see in a picture at the bottom.  I stamped him in Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics:
BV02, BV01, BV00
R24, R22, R20
Y35, Y15, Y13, Y11
G05, G03, G02
BG13, BG11
I wanted to be able to sponge some blue and green ink onto the background so I used the X-Press It Masking Sheets to make it super easy.  I stamped Fergus onto the masking paper using StazOn ink and then carefully cut it out.  Now I'm able to save that mask and use it over and over.
The yellow background paper is from the Echo Park - Dots & Stripes Candy Shoppe 6x6 paper pad and the tiny red border around the main image is from the This & That Graceful 6x6 paper pad.
I wanted to add a sentiment so I chose to use the little 'xoxo' from the Lawn Fawn - Love 'n Breakfast set and then punched it out with a tag punch.

I wanted to give the top layer, the reds, a little something extra so I used some Glossy Accents to give them some shine.

Here is a side view of the main image.  I colored and layered quite a bit to give him tons of dimension!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Tuesday Tips & Tricks: Dye Job

Hi there iCopic Lovers! It's Sheri here and today, I thought I would share with you a few different methods I use for coloring my seam binding. I used to buy it already colored, but now, I just buy a large roll of white seam binding it and color as I go and I always have matching ribbon.
The first method I use is glittery spray and either a bit of water or Perfect Pearls on a non-stick craft mat.

Smoosh (technical word) it around in this mixture, bunch up and wither set aside to dry or carefully use a heat gun to dry...if you're impatient, like me. :)

The second method using Distress inks smooshed onto a non-stick craft mat and another spritz of Perfect Pearls or water.

After spritzing with Perfect Pearls

Crumple and set aside to dry.

The third method involves our beloved Copic Markers. Just scribble a couple of times on a non-stick craft mat, spritz with either a bit of colorless blender solution or a bit of alcohol.

 and ...viola!
Below are the 3 different methods. Glimmer Mist, Distress Inks and Copic.
Have fun looking around your supplies to see what you have that will work too. I encourage to give it a try!

My card today uses the darling Tilda with Peony Tails stamp from Magnolia
