Tuesday Tips and Tricks: Waterbrush Floral Background Fun

Hi everyone! Samantha here and for this week's Tuesday Tips and Tricks, I have a watercolor tutorial to share with you. I created this background with the new Ranger Inksentials Water Brush Fine Detail brush.  I have a quick watercolor floral background tutorial to share with you. This project happens to be Mother's Day themed, because Mother's Day will be here before you know it :)

You can really have fun with the Water Brushes. They come in Fine Detail and Broad Nib

You will need the following supplies:
For Every Woman Stamp Set  by SP and Company
VersaMark or another embossing ink (clear)
Heating tool
Clear embossing powder
Distress Worn Lipstick, Distress Wild Honey, and Distress Spun Sugar
Ranger Inksentials Water Brush Fine Detail brush
white cardstock
pink ribbon
orange cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Steps:
1. Using VersaMark, stamp large flower from the For Every Woman stamp set repeatedly onto your card base & emboss with clear embossing powder. My card base is a standard sized card base, but it opens up (cut an 8.5X11inch cardstock in half which ever way you prefer and fold).

TIP: When stamping my flowers, I stamped one at a time, then covered it with the clear embossing powder, and then heat set the flower immediately. The ink may dry by the time you finish stamping the whole background so I tend to work in small sections.

2. Next, get your ink ready for your watercoloring. I just pressed my inks onto a clear block (use any plastic, non porous surface). 

3. Using a damp watercolor brush, start creating your watercolored background. I found that if I got my brush too wet that the ink was way too light, so I tended to use more ink and less water. It left me with this background (pictured below). Notice that the flowers show through the ink because they are embossed!

4.  Next add a bow.

5. Finish off your card with one of the sentiments from the stamp set. I chose "Thank you for being my mommy" sentiment.

 My card was still a bit damp when I was taking the photos so you can tell that the card seems all warped. I recommend you let the card dry flat :)
