ICOPIC'S COLOR CHALLENGE #3!

As one challenge ends, we hope you’re ready for another! iCopic Challenge #3
It’s obvious that at iCopic, we love color! Our challenge colors are inspired by the beautiful colors in our everyday life that add energy and excitement into the routines of our days. Colors draw up memories and lift moods and one of our favorite colors is red. So for Challenge #3 your theme colors are Red, Pink and White. One lucky winner will receive – 1 package of 50 Sheets of the New X-Press Blending Card. The X-Press It Blending Cards are one of the hottest items right now, and here is your chance to win them!
To enter, follow these easy steps:
1. Become a follower of our blog, if you aren’t already.
2. Post your original creation with your entry and the link back to iCopic's Color Challenge on your blog. You can make ANY type of project that includes use of Copics: greeting card, scrapbook page, altered art, 3D project, illustration, etc. Anything goes as long as Copics are used!
3. The colors need to be as close to the challenge’s color theme as possible.

The challenge starts Thursday, September 02, 2010 and will end on Wednesday, September 15th. The winner will be chosen by the True Random Number Generator.

As always, we’re excited to see what everyone comes up with!

Here is an inspiration project to get you started:

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! What a fantastic prize!!! I cannot wait to get mine and I am sooo happy they are shipping out tomorrow! :)
Great challenge...you guys are always so generous!

are all the challenges for/going to be for card making only?
You haven't specifically said it's card challenge so I'm just curious.

I'm just wondering how worth my time it is to keep coming here as an illustrator rather than a card maker if I can't participate in the challenges.

Hello,

@Rene - Yep, we do try to keep you interested in our challenge.

@Guruubii - As you can tell from our challenge number we are very new on hosting challenges on our blog. Not only that we just recently started to be more active on the blog and are still trying to create more interesting post and challenges for our follower.

We are in the process of looking for a team of 4-6 designer who we hope will be able to provide us with detail video/project tutorial just like how you already have on your blog/you tube. Guruubii, if you have any suggestion on how we can make it better for you so that we can continue to have you as a follower please let us know. Like I mention below we are new at this and are looking forward to customer like you to provide us your feedback so that we can make the challenges or the blog more fun and interesting.

Thank you in advance for your suggestion.

Ashley

Thanks for replying :)
I was very excited by your blog, I think the main thing that would keep me following would be opening up the challenges to anyone who uses Copics.
Since you choose the winners with a random number generator then it wouldn't be putting anyone at a disadvantage in anyway by allowing it, but then I'd still get a shot at those awesome prizes, and still be able to challenge myself in a fun little community.
I love the colour themes you have! I even did a little illustration based on the coloured (ivory, chocolate, gold) theme you posted before, but it wasn't a card so I couldn't enter.

I love blogs and I follow a ton of them, but every single one is for card making. I google for Copic blogs at least twice a week, Alas, nothing.

I fully understand that card making is a huge, if not the biggest part of Copics consumer base (I work in an art store that sells Copics) but illustrators feel left out (and not manga illustrators only :p). In fact I've never found a Copic blog that isn't card making related. That's actually what prompted me to create my own blog, MarkerGuru, to try to fill that void (in the limited capacity I can).

So for me, it's just a bit frustrating. I use copics for my backgrounds in my animated films, illustrations, concept art, and I'm working on a graphic novel that's full colour in copics. I'd love to have a nice full community like the card makers have. :)

The videos sound awesome, I love making and watching videos. I think I've watched all the ones (icopicgal) a dozen times already.

I guess my suggestion is Variety, really.

I'd be happy to help out in whatever capacity you would need, if you could find need for me, also.

I'm redoing my tutorials in the near future (bad sound quality and stuff, bleck) so if anything specific come to mind as I tackle mine, I'll let you know :)

Hello,

Thank you for replying to my comment above.

When we originally started the color challenge it was always to be open to EVERYONE not only to card maker. It is possible that because all of the entries that was submitted was cards and we didn't clarify what will be accepted, yourself and other must have thought that it is only for card maker. We will have that correct tomorrow so that the challenge show clearly it open to everyone.

Once again, THANK YOU so much for your great suggestion.

Hi Guru and friends,

I have changed the official rules to reflect our purpose more accurately. Any and all Copic use is accepted so we would love for you to play along.

Samantha
